I just finished a great professional development with NCTA (National Consortium for Teaching about Asia) in which teachers from all over the US, who teach a number of different subjects and grades, got together (virtually) to read The Land of Big Numbers. It came at a time when I was extremely busy and it was an enormous challenge, but it is always so meaningful to see how many teachers are working hard outside of their regular jobs and lives in order to become better at their profession.

Biggest takeaway: The world has a lot to learn about China and we are just beginning to hear some of the amazing individual stories from people who are navigating the expansion of what seems to be the nation that will define the 21st century.
