After years of reports on the Uyghur concentration camps China has in Xinjiang, people are starting to look back at Tibet. Residential schools shouldn’t be new to Americans. Phoenix has one of its own, once called the Phoenix Indian School, which closed only in 1990. In Canada, just a couple weeks ago, St. Mary’s Residential School in Ontario was in the news for the discovery of 171 “plausible burials” or unmarked graves.
